Manhattan, without Manhattan rates.
World of Blue is across the Hudson from Midtown — Lincoln Tunnel in 15 minutes off-peak. NJ Transit puts you in Penn Station in 9 minutes from a 6-mile drive to Secaucus Junction.
By car
From World of Blue to Midtown Manhattan is 8 miles via Route 3 East to the NJ Turnpike Eastern Spur to the Lincoln Tunnel. Off-peak (10 AM – 3 PM weekdays, late night, most weekends) the drive is 15–20 minutes door-to-door.
Peak hours: Lincoln Tunnel queues add 20–40 minutes during weekday morning and evening rush. For peak-hour trips, the train is faster and easier.
Parking in NYC: garages near Times Square run $50–80 for the day; ours is $0 with a hotel stay. Most guests park here, take the train in, and skip Manhattan parking entirely.
By train
Fastest train route: 6-mile drive (or Uber/Lyft, $20–25) to Secaucus Junction. From there, NJ Transit's Northeast Corridor and Midtown Direct lines run to Penn Station Manhattan in 9 minutes. Trains every 15 minutes during weekday peak, every 30 minutes off-peak.
Total door-to-door: roughly 35 minutes off-peak, 40–45 during peak. Less than most Brooklyn → Midtown commutes.
Secaucus Junction also has Amtrak service for Washington/Boston, NJ Transit's Meadowlands line (one stop to MetLife Stadium for stadium events), and connection points to PATH for downtown Manhattan / Jersey City.
Why guests choose the Meadowlands over Manhattan
Cost. Manhattan hotel rates for the same room class run $400–800/night. World of Blue runs $200–350/night most weeks (and includes the parking that costs $50–80/day in the city).
Space. 380–480 sq ft per room here vs. 200–320 in most Manhattan hotels. Real seating, real desks, proper tiled bathrooms.
Calm. No 3 AM ambulance sirens. The Meadowlands corridor is quiet at night; the city is 15 minutes away when you want it.
Service. Full-service hotel with 24-hour concierge, full restaurant, indoor pool, fitness center — at price points where Manhattan would give you a select-service property.
Day trips into the city
Typical New York day trip from the property: 9 AM breakfast at CrossBar → 10 AM Uber to Secaucus Junction → 10:20 AM Penn Station → walk to Times Square / MoMA / Broadway matinee → late lunch → afternoon shopping → 5 PM Penn Station → 5:40 PM back to the hotel → 6 PM cocktails at The Speakeasy. No parking hunt, no garage fees, no Manhattan traffic stress.
